Awards:
Flat Ribbons placed 1st - 6th. Rosettes for Division Champion and Reserves Champion, and double layered ribbons for remaining Division Top Fives.
Tags:
We use leg tags. If you are making new tags, I prefer all information on one side. Your tags should include:
Horse's Name
Breed
Gender
Your 3 initials
If you already have tags made, don't remake them! Just make sure they have all the information somewhere on the tag.
Ribbon Recycling Program:
If you don't want to keep the ribbons you win, I'll have an area in which you can donate them back. This will keep the cost of future shows down. ;-)
Results:
We are only going to record horses that place 1st or 2nd in each class so they can be reported to NAMHSA. We will not keep track of horse's placings for 3rd-6th
General Guidelines and Rules:
Fantasy Horses are limited to equine based fantasy models such as: Equine Unicorns, Pegasus, Hippocampus, Hippogriff, Thestral, Zombie Horse, Skeletal Horse, or other fantasy equines which depict a creature that is at least 50% equine in form. Creatures that have partial human anatomy or anatomy similar to humans, are not allowed even if they are more than 50% equine.
“OF” Divisions are for Original Finish models and will be judged for collectabilty. “CM/AR” Divisions are for Custom, Artist Released, and Custom Glazed China and will be judged on workmanship.
Models may be entered into one class per division, except for the “Designs” division, where models may be entered in up to two classes. Your imagination is the only limit for the performance division.
Cross Entry between divisions is fine! So each model should be able to show 5 or 6 times, not counting performance. (Once in fantasy type, size, make, color, and up to twice in designs/patterns). If you’ve entered one model in more than 6 collectiblity or workmanship classes in total, you’re doing it wrong.
No extra bases, stands, footing, halters, or scenes should be used unless the model needs the base to stand properly or the scene/halter is molded to the horse.
Tippy models can be shown lying down on a piece of felt or cloth.
Collectablity information is very much encouraged, but please be mindful of space constraints. The tables can sometimes get very crowded.
There is a 5 minute time limit between classes. It’s possible your model will be showing in another division when your class is called, please just let the judge know if this happens and we will hold the class.
For the “Fantasy Type” Divisions: “Unrealistic Colored Horses” are realistic horse models with unreal paint colors. “Unicorns” are Equine Unicorns only, basically horses with horns, but no wings or other non-horse features. “Fantasy Horses” are winged horses and everything else at least 50% equine. Breed assignments are not necessary. Models should be entered in the class that most closely fits its body type.
“Unrealistic Colored horses” can be wildly unrealistic like pink or purple, or they can be “attempted Realistic” Where the color is realistic, but the pattern or design could never occur in nature. Many vintage horses have what I consider “attempted realistic” colors with crazy dots, splatters, and shading.
For the “Sizes” divisions: “Mini” is stablemate sized and smalled, generally less than 5 inches tall. “Classic” sized (also called Freedom) are 1:12 scale. Traditional is anything larger than 1:12 scale. Breed assignments are not necessary. Models should be entered in the class that most closely fits its body type.
All First and Second place equids and eligible fantasy equids in NAMHSA approved classes will receive a NAN card.
If your model earns multiple NAN Cards in one day – only 2 can be used toward merit awards. Check NAMSHA’s website for current rules for merit awards.

Custom (CM): One of a kind models created by repainting, rehairing, or resculpting a model originally produced in a factory. Cold painted china is usually considered “custom”.
Artist Released (AR): used to be “Artist Resin” but this is more inclusive of all the different mediums. These include castings of a unique work that has been finished by the original artist or another artist. They can also be original sculptures. Models are sculpted, casted, or 3D printed and made of resin, metal, or plastic. They could even be hand carved in wood. NAMHSA considers all Animal artistry resin as part of this category.
Custom Glazed China (CMG): a custom Kiln Fired china model that is an original sculpt or casting or a customized and re-fired model from a factory. Cold painted chinas are considered customs, not custom glazed.
Original Finish Resin (OF Resin): Models made of resin or cold cast porcelain. These models are Not fired in a Kiln.
Original Finish China (OF China): Models made of ceramic, china, or porcelain. These models are fired in a kiln.
